The Sun Finally Came Out to Play

There is a lot of crazy flooding going on up here and luckily we haven't been affected. The sun finally came out and we've been able to have a little fun. Now we just have to fight off the mosquitoes.

Trent's new treasure...bought off his YM's counselor for 50 bucks. Yikes...Are you kidding me?!

My last helo ride...fun but a little chilly.

Our house...

Monster truck Big Foot came to visit base...the boys were in heaven!

Savanna managed to open the brown sugar and shake it all over her and the kitchen...it is still a little sticky even after steam cleaning the floor 3 times.

My very first french braid...I'm sorry Amelia...I tried.

The MARATHON...thank goodness it's over. Thanks to my family and especially Trent for all the support and encouragement!

Mile 18...didn't think I was going to make it.

But I did!!!

Starting a little young aren't we Savanna?! (That's Amelia's cell phone Aunt Tori and Uncle Nick gave her for Christmas)

Happy girl now that she is on her 5th dose of antibiotics and going to get tubes put in her ears in a couple weeks.

Some fun videos!

...And She's Off

Savanna started walking on March 29th so I am a little behind. She is now a pro but still has to carry things around in her mouth. Hasn't figured out that her hands are available now.
I'm sorry but I just couldn't resist that pot belly and those cute rolls that are finally melting off.

And mustache march is over so I can finally kiss my husband without getting razor burn.

Amelia does her own hair now...not bad for the little girl.
The kids are celebrating the much anticipated sunshine and melting snow. It got up into the 50s this week...Hooray!

Happy Birthday Savanna!

Our little baby is now 1...so sad. Her favorite time is bath time. She is giving kisses and blowing them too. Her favorite/only animal sound is roaring like a tiger. She crawls faster than any kid I have ever seen and she started her 3rd antibiotic for a resistant ear infection last Friday. She babbles like she is carrying on a conversation and a happy girl. We love you Savanna-baby!

I just liked Savanna's lack of expression while we sang, like we were a bunch of losers or something.

My first scratch cake with a pudding-cheesecake filling. It was pretty good, but needed a few more strawberries. Yum, Yum!

"I think I will lick the plate"

Savanna always carries stuff around in her mouth...we think it's funny

The Daddy-Daughter Dance

Ice Bath after a long run--couldn't do it without my pants
This was much more painful than running

Soccer Medals...we survived the season! Brayden finally scored a goal his last game. He is playing with 7-9 year olds so he is the youngest and definitely looked like it. Lane scored several goals...I think the ones for our team and the other team evened out in the end.

Playing in the rain
Here on base they have a big indoor play land with a skate park, rock wall, batting cages and mini golf, and a jumpy castle. We are kicking ourselves for not utilizing it earlier. It costs $5 all day but 6 and under are free so it really costs $5 for all the kids and they love it.

Blowing Kisses

Now I just sit back and relax as we are under another blizzard warning and expecting freezing rain, snow and drifting. Anticipating 10-16 inches of snow. Kids are home early from school and probably will be home tomorrow too. Everyone has been sent home from work...except for Trent of course!!!:) Sucks to be "Essential Personnel"

Silly Kids

Just had to add this funny note real quick. Amelia was eating her oatmeal this morning and said, "Mom, my tummy says 'no more oatmeal.'" I said, "Okay, just try and take one more bite" and she replied, "Then my tummy will be angry." I had to laugh at that silly girl.

I guess I will write one about the boys too that I forgot. Last week we were playing trains and I asked what happened to one of the geotrax trains that went missing. Lane said, “Mom, I already told you. I threw it in the big [dumpster] garbage outside and the garbage man took it.” I asked why and he said, “Because we kept fighting over it.” I wasn’t very happy cause those trains cost like 20 bucks but I guess they learned that from us parents so I couldn’t really get upset. Brayden did the same thing with a helium balloon that he brought home from a party. He popped it because they were all fighting over it. What have I done to my kids?

Happy Valentine's Day

Trent was in Texas all of last week. We managed all right, but one thing is for sure. The kids love their daddy. Everyday they would ask when he was coming home. The morning he was to get home, I found Brayden curled up by the window in a blanket watching for him. Too cute. I had some great "keeper moments" with the kids this week. I am finally starting to see things click with Lane and it is always good to know that what you are teaching is paying off. Brayden had a Valentine's box that said, "You are special" on it and a kid from his class (that he doesn't particularly care for) said, "I am not special," to which Brayden replied, "Yes you are. Everyone is special because God made us." Then Lane was coloring and wanted me to draw him Lightening McQueen. I said I couldn't because my hands were all sticky (making bread) so he said, "Ok, I'll try my best." Simple things, but they made my day. I also got to take him swimming and have some one-on-one time with him thanks to a good friend who took the girls and we both had a blast together. He is a fun kid.

I had a crazy experience a couple days ago. We had a blizzard that came on quite fast. I left to take Lane to preschool and headed to town to run some errands. A little light snow was falling and it was windy but I thought nothing of it. I started to head home and called a friend in case I didn’t make it by the time Brayden’s bus got there. She said the roads were bad and they were going to close them any minute. I freaked out a bit because I still was 20 min from home. I barely made it because as I was getting to the highway, the road workers were untying the gate to shut the highway down. On my way back, it was anywhere from 0 to 20 feet of visibility. Probably the scariest thing I have ever done. There were still a few people on the road and I hit a complete white-out patch this one time. I couldn’t even see the end of my own car. I slowed to almost a complete stop and realized I was going to get hit from behind so I tried to slowly inch forward but I felt the snow getting thicker so I knew I was going off the road. I veered the other way and then started to panic so I started honking my horn to let people know I was there. I was just waiting for the bus I had passed to run into the back of me. I started praying so hard and finally a short patch opened up where I could see about 20 or 30 feet. It was like that the whole way home (about 10 miles between base and town). When I got to base, of course they had shut down the gate and weren’t letting people off due to road conditions. We had some guests until 8:30 that night because they were stuck on base. Crazy!

That's the update and here are some fun pics/videos.

We had a few days of warmer weather and the snow started melting...some messy fun, but poor Lane--his hands were freezing.
